What Is the Schadenfreude Pool?

Schadenfreude is a German word meaning joy derived from others' misfortune — and the name fits. The Schadenfreude Pool is a shared pGMT reward pool funded by competitive activity in STEPN GO. Players who invest in the Karma attribute earn leaderboard positions and receive a proportional share of pGMT distributions each cycle.

The Schadenfreude Pool is a STEPN GO exclusive competitive feature on Polygon. It rewards the Karma Build — a high-investment strategy requiring a Lv 30 sneaker with maxed Karma Gems. Check the official STEPN GO app for current pool availability and cycle timings.

How It Works

Step 01

Build Your Karma

Level your sneaker to 30 (Uncommon or higher), socket max Karma Gems into your Karma slots, and unlock pGMT farming mode.

Step 02

Compete & Contribute

Walk or run in competitive mode to accumulate Karma points. A portion of session earnings from all participants flows into the shared Schadenfreude Pool.

Step 03

Earn Your Share

At each distribution cycle, the pool is split among leaderboard participants. Your share is weighted by your Karma attribute — higher Karma means a larger cut.

Why pGMT?

pGMT is the Polygon-native form of GMT — the governance token shared across the entire FSL ecosystem. Unlike GGT, which has no fixed cap and inflates with each session, pGMT shares GMT's 6 billion fixed total supply. This scarcity is the core reason the Karma Build has a long-term investment thesis.
